Donna Maree Hanson has a special fondness for Australian speculative fiction as well as a love of science fiction, fantasy and a dabbling of horror from everywhere. An occasional reviewer for The Specusphere over many years now, Donna has also edited a novel as well as a couple of short story collections and anthologies: she co-edited the CSFG anthology Encounters (2005) and edited The Grinding House (CSFG 2005) by Kaaron Warren.
With her own publishing venture, Donna produced the non-fiction Australian Speculative Fiction-A Genre Overview (ASF 2005), Kered's Crown by Kaaren Sutcliffe (2006) and Johnny Phillips-Werewolf Detective (ASF 2008) by Robbie Matthews, which was short listed for best collection in the 2009 Aurealis Awards.
In her own writing efforts, Donna concentrates on novel length manuscripts with several on the boil. Her short fiction appears in anthologies: Machinations, Elsewhere and Masques by CSFG Publishing Belong and Scary Kisses by Ticonderoga Publications, Novus Creatura by Aurore Wolf and magazines: Redsine and Potato Monkey, among others.
Donna lives in Queanbeyan, near the ACT, and works for the Australian Government in the nation's capital. She is currently studying for a post-graduate certificate in Professional Writing (Editing) at the University of Canberra. In her spare time she enjoys reading, knitting, and travel.
