By day, John Paul Fitch is a hard working Electrical Designer for a huge multi-national engineering company; by night he becomes an author of horror fiction and comics. He is also the Editor in Chief of FLUX UK, the European and Australian arm of American independent comic publisher, What The Flux Comics. John Paul is a keen reviewer of comics and books on behalf of The Specusphere and for comic review website Comicbuzz.
He began his career as a comic writer in 2008 and has been published in several anthologies, notably the ICCW Rampage collection. He is currently working on three new comic series, the first of which will debut in early 2011.
John Paul's short horror fiction won him the title of Fiction Prodigy by New Voices in Horror magazine in 2008. He won a place in the Australian Horror Writers Association's prestigious mentorship program, with Australian horror maestro Robert Hood acting as his mentor for a year.
In his capacity as EIC of FLUX UK, John Paul acts as chief talent scout, editor, and all round magazine put-together-er. He liaises internationally with artists and writers on a variety of stories for a few Europe and Australia-wide comic anthology due to première at MegaCon in Florida in March.
John Paul is a graduate of the Perth Actors Collective's directors course and is a Stanislavski Award nominated film-maker. He is also a dedicated husband and father of two boys. In his spare time, when he's not working his day job, being nagged by his beautiful wife, playing with his two wonderful boys, working as EIC of FLUX, JP likes to watch movies, read, practise Yoga and lift weights. He is also a keen amateur boxer.
